This year’s World Usability Day theme is Transportation. Gerry Gaffney of Information & Design in Melbourne will be joining Trent Mankelow from Optimal Usability to discuss the many foibles of transportation. You can expect entertaining examples from all over the world, interesting anecdotes and stories, and challenges about how transportation has impacted our culture and society.

 We will also be taking the opportunity to unveil our next usability product to the big, wide world.   Our shiny new product, Chalkmark, addresses the ever present challenge of user testing when there is minimal budget or time. It is a tool that provides near instant feedback on your design prototypes and websites.
 
In keeping with this year’s World Usability theme, we are using Chalkmark to conduct a comparative study of four major airlines’ websites. The goal? To find out which airline provides the best online user experience for customers trying to book a return ticket to London. To do this, we need your help. All you need is to pretend for 10 - 15 minutes that you’re booking a flight to London and click on the following link: 
 
 
There will be great food at the event, free subscriptions to our software tools, our infamous usability-themed gifts and, best of all you, are almost guaranteed to be sitting next to some smart, interesting person.

The Skyline Function Centre, 1 Upland Rd, Kelburn, Wellington (A 5 minute ride on the Wellington Cable Car, access from Lambton Quay)
Cost: 
The breakfast is completely free, but you will need to purchase a cable car ticket ($5 return, or $3 one way). The cable car will be open from 6:45am.
