World Usability Day2006 in India

UsabilityMatters.Org, UMO herewith invites all those who are playing their part both actively and passively in 'Making it Easy'.
We are driven by belief that design is not a domain limited to few
disciplines, but it is indeed prevalent in every discipline that
enables solutions of any kind, be it products or services, and
therefore its our responsibility to 'make it easy' for consumers of
technology.

UMO
is planning to hold a string of activities along the timeline to14th
November 2006, and hold events on this day to mark the World Usability
Day'06.

The events will focus on 'Making it Easy' across the areas like: e- Governance , Tourism , Transportation , Traffic , Public Services & Social Relevance. 
Around ten topics of interest would be finalized amongst the listed
areas , based on the ideas generated by the participating design
drivers . We are not just talking about internet and cell phones, but
technology is everything we use i.e., cars, microwave ovens, door
knobs, etc., and yes computers too.

More
importantly we are looking at inviting representatives from respective
NGO, government and private sectors to be present on the day. This will
not only be useful for them in gaining awareness on design, but will
help them in realizing the difference such work would make. More over
it brings visibility to our efforts and further strengthens and
stabilizes the cause of 'making it easy'.

The developers and sellers of technology should be made to do a better
job of design, it should be a priority to get right and perhaps it will
take more than just trained design professionals to change the world.

We invite the Designers -working and studying in their respective
disciplines spanning across Architecture, Industrial Design,
Instructional Design, User Interface Design, Graphic Design, Technical
writers and Engineering, We invite the Developers -building and
developing applications & products on technology and Visionaries ,
showing the way ahead.

UsabilityMatters.Org’s -Boycott Bad-Design Contest’06 
UMO
is holding this competition for identifying Bad-Designs as part of our
activities towards the World Usability Day-2006. The entries will be
exhibited on 14th  November 2006 on the World Usability Day.
 Participation is open to everybody from every country in the
world, and from any background- designers and design sensitive
consumers!

UsabilityMatters.Org’s -International Cartoon Contest’06  
The
UMO-International Cartoon Contest'06 is organized by UMO towards the
World Usability Day. All the awarded and qualified cartoons will be
exhibited on 14th  November 2006 on the World Usability Day.
Participation is open to all cartoonists from every country in the world.
