Come to Enquiro’s Website Usability Clinic 101, an entertaining and educational introduction into making websites that customers love to use.
Date: Nov 12, 2009
Time: 11:00am to 1:00pm
Location: The Habitat - 248 Leon Avenue, Kelowna
Cost: $10 (includes lunch, paid at the door)
We will provide an introduction into how users interact with your website and what you can do to make this interaction more enjoyable for the user and more profitable for you.
Website Usability Clinic - 101
The clinic will be broken down into three sections:
Usability 101 – an introduction to usability and user-centered design.
- What is usability/UCD?
- Why is it important?
- How does it work?
- What will I get out of it?
Case Studies:
- How can the Okanagan’s technology incubator leverage their web site to attract new start-ups? (ORIC)
- Can visitors to the region effectively plan their visit online? (Tourism Kelowna)
On-site clinic
- Attendees will be invited to show their sites
- Floor will be open to commentary from other attendees
- Enquiro’s staff will review the sites live
What is World Usability Day?
World Usability Day is an initiative started in 2005 by the Usability Professionals’ Association with the mandate of “Making Life Easy”. The primary goal is to raise public awareness about the development of technology that serves people first. For the last 4 years, the second Thursday of November has seen over 200 events in 43 different countries geared toward making technology easier to use.
