World Usability Day 2009: The Karlskrona Challenge

We are holding a design contest to investigate human centered design within the context of the The Natural Step's four system conditions for sustainability.

In a sustainable society, nature is not subject to:

I ... increasing concentrations of substances from the earth's crust

II ... increasing concentrations of substances produced by society

III ... degradation by physical means

and, in that society ...

IV ... people are not subject to conditions that systematically undermine their ability to meet their needs.

Participants are invited to design a service or product that promotes sustainability and makes life easier for a person, a community, or a business.
