World Usability Day 2007 at the University of Minnesota

The Office of Information Technology and the Digital Technology Center invite you to World Usability Day 2007 at the University of Minnesota.

The following events are free and will take place in Walter Library on the East Bank of the Minneapolis campus. No need to register in advance.

Program of Events:

11:00 a.m. - noon Open House at the Usability Lab. Room B26 Walter Library, on the basement level. Tours and demonstations by Usability Services staff.

12:00 - 1:30 p.m. Presentation: "Intro to Usability - How to Get Started". Location: Room 402 Walter Library. Presenters: Prof. Lee-Ann Kastman Breuch from the Dept. of Writing Studies and David Rosen from Usability Services. You care about the experience of your web site's users. What can you do to improve it?

1:30 - 1:45 p.m. Break. Location: 4th floor atrium.

1:45 - 3:15 p.m. Presentation: "Accessibility News: Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 and a Web Accessibility Self-Audit Tool". Location: Room 402 Walter Library. Presenters: Josh Carroll from Usability Services, plus Phil Kragnes, Kim Doberstein, and Nicole Tollefson from other units in the Office of Information Technology. You want your web site to be accessible to all users. How can the proposed WCAG 2.0 accessibility guidelines and the Computer Accommodations Program's new web accessibility self-audit tool help you to make that a reality?

3:15 - 3:30 p.m Break. Location: 4th floor atrium.
