On this usability day, a group of Design and Technology (D&T) teachers from DTES will come together to present their findings and insights that they got from conducting their own usability test for a product. The sharing will include the following areas pertaining to the structure and approach of their usability test: 1. Product: The item chosen for their test and the objectives of their test 2. Test Scripts: Their methodologies and processes 3. Results: Their findings and insights 4. Recommendations: Their proposed solutions The session is part of a series of professional sharing workshops named Teacher-as-Designer (TaD) where a group of D&T teachers try their hand at designing to understand the designing process better. Since 2010, the D&T teachers involved in TaD, have met up once a month to work on design projects under the guidance of a practicing designer. The teachers who gone through the workshops have successfully translated their learning from the projects into classroom resources and pedagogical skills. On January 2011, DTES kicked off the second series of TaD workshops and this world usability day event will conclude the professional sharing for the year.
