Event Details
Gill Whitney is the chair of the European Design-for-all and Assistive
Technology Standardisation Co-ordination Group (DATSCG - a working
group of the ICT standards board). As such she works to facilitate
users input to the European Standards Organisation, to enable older
people and people with disabilites to participate in the Information
Society.
She is also a Member of the Special Needs Working Group of ANEC and the
ANEC W3C Project Team (supporting the ANEC representative on W3C). ANEC
is the European Association for the co-ordination of consumer
representation in standardisation).
In this talk she will discuss how user involvement can be utilised to
ensure that the European Standards Organisations take into account user
needs.
