What is World Usability Day?
World Usability Day was an initiative launched in 2005 by the Usability Professionals’ Association (UPA) and it’s all about making life easier.
Each year, on the second Thursday of November, over 225 events are organized in over 40 countries around the world to raise awareness for the general public, and train professionals in the tools and issues central to good usability research, development and practice.
This year, the theme is Designing for a Sustainable World. We are trying to raise awareness for this, so if you would like to work out your carbon footprint and offset it, we thoroughly recommend that you check out www.offsettherest.com. This is a New Zealand company that works to keep our country clean, green and beautiful.
Optimal Usability will be donating to this organization: http://www.treesfortravellers.co.nz/ to offset the environmental cost of this year’s event.
