Progress In The Field

I am so happy to have been a part of the UPA Board of Directors and
spearheaded the first two World Usability Day events in the area in which I
live. I want to share three things that have occurred recently that I
thought would be of interest.

The USA Michigan event has over 300 people registered. Not sure how that compares
to the other biggies, but we added 100 to our registration over last year.

I lead a group of usability engineers who are located in Detroit MI, Nashua
NH, and Amsterdam NE, and my group will be attending events in East Lansing
MI, Boston MA, and Gouda, respectively). They are all going with the company
blessing and assigning it appropriately to "Training."

My graphic designer moved here with he family from Russia about 12 years
ago. Last week I noticed an event had popped up in Moscow and immediately
let her know. We drilled into the Google map and she discovered that the
event was being held just a few kilometers from where she used to live.

I know everyone is busy (I am up late working on my presentation for next
week's event myself), but I hope that this note has given you some
inspiration.

This profession is finally beginning to show maturity, energy, and
excitement!
