For World Usability Day, the Hong Kong UPA Chapter will conduct a walkthrough on the Globalhand web site to help the charitable organization improve their web site, and ultimately help get information to those groups supporting the poor.
Chapter president Daniel Szuc said, "We selected Globalhand because of the strategic importance they place on their web site to support the poor. Also, because it is 'world' usability day, we wanted an event to provide tools for the Hong Kong usability community and an event that demonstrates a positive to the world"
Global Hand is often likened to a "humanitarian eBay". The organization matches offers and requests between the corporate and Non Government Organisation ("NGO") sectors. Until now, Global Hand has primarily facilitated offers and requests for goods. Now, those services are being expanded to include human resources, freight, and funding as well.
