K12 Inc., (www.k12.com) is an education company that develops curriculum for Kindergarten through high school students across all of the core subjects (language arts, math, history, science, etc.). Our curriculum is presented through both computer-based and printed materials. The K12 curriculum is used in a variety of environments including traditional classrooms, homes and hybrid situations where students work from home the majority of the time and come to a class one or more times a week.
The K12 User Experience group is inviting middle and high school students to come to our offices in Herndon, VA on World Usability Day to do activities with each subject-area team. This will allow our instructional development teams to learn more about our users and to have the opportunity to observe them using our products.
The students will be provided lunch and be given an interactive toy for participating. They will have an opportunity to learn more about how we create curriculum and participate in engaging activities such as science experiments and online games. We are encouraging the students to bring pieces of their world, such as their music, to share with us.
We expect that all involved will have a fun time!
