What can we, the UX and tech community do, to ameliorate their concerns and improve user's financial knowledge and decision making?


Dr. Jim Hudson, Paypal

Jim Hudson is a Global Research Manager in Customer Experience and Design at PayPal.  In this current role, Dr. Hudson manages research teams working on large, multi-stage research projects covering all stages of the developmental lifecycle—everything from understanding customer needs to rapidly iterating designs based on customer feedback to tracking customer satisfaction of live designs. With checkout at the core of PayPal’s business, Dr. Hudson’s team has observed thousands of customers making purchases online, and has surveyed tens of thousands more. With PayPal’s fully localized websites in 24 countries, Dr. Hudson spends much of his time focused on how customer findings apply across different geographies.

Jamie Armistead, Bank of the West

Jamie Armistead is the Head of Multichannel Banking at Bank of the West. Prior to joining Bank of the West in July, Jamie was director of User Experience at Bank of America, where he was responsible for customer-facing experiences across web, mobile and ATM platforms. During Jamie’s 11-year tenure at Bank of America, he also managed the online aspects of the company’s Global Wealth and Investment management businesses and played a key role in establishing a user experience practice in the organization. Prior to Bank of America, Jamie spent time in eServices, dot coms and management consulting. Jamie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial and Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan.

Sean King, Union Bank

Sean King is the Senior UX Research Specialist, AVP at Union Bank where he is responsible for managing usability testing and interaction design across all online products. Prior to Union Bank, he was a Sr. Interaction Designer at Green Dot where he worked on multiple products in the prepaid space for both web and mobile. Prior to Green Dot, Sean led User Interface development for cloud storage products at DDN.
