The RNIB in co-operation with other organisations connected to COST 219ter wrote a set of heuristic principles to evaluate the accessibility of a mobile phone. These principles are designed to evaluate the software (operating system) of the phone as well as the hardware. Once we had written these, a validation study was performed to compare the results gained from using the heuristic principles and the results gained from an end user evaluation. This involveed disabled people in the UK, Portugal and Cyprus. This was done to determine if they heuristic principles reported issues that are important to disabled people in terms of accessibility of a mobile phone. A report of the validation study has been written which will hopefully be available on the COST 219ter website (www.cost219.org) in the near future.
The presentation is co-ordinated by RNIB on behalf of COST 219ter. The presentation is an RSVP only event.
