Improved Medical Sign Standards
The ability of people to understand medical signs on warning labels and other medical documents is sometimes a matter of life and death.
Clear, easy to learn, easy to use signs are crucial.
For this reason, we are pleased to announce a presentation and discussion about newly-designed medical signs intended to become standards in Japan and China. These signs visually instruct users on how to take medicines safely.
Professor Yukio Ota, Tama Art University, Tokyo, Japan, and Director of
the Sign Center, an internationally renowned communications designer,
who has lead the team designing these signs, will be interviewed by Aaron Marcus, President and Principal Designer/Analyst,
Aaron Marcus and Associates, Inc., (AM+A) , Berkeley, California, USA .
This bi-hemispherical Webinar, originating from Tokyo and Berkeley,
will be a unique opportunity to learn about the results of this project
and toprovide input and ideas for the signs' further improvement.
Professor Yukio Ota is Professor of visual communication design at Tama
Art University. AM+A has been leaders for 25 years in intelligent design
for user interfaces, information visualization, and visual storyselling.
The event will be held at Thursday, 8 Novermber, 10:00, Tokyo (Japan)
time, or 7 November, 17:00, Berkeley (USA Pacific Time) time.
We look forward to your participation. Thank you for your support.
