Event Details
Earlier this year, teams from the BBC, Aardman Digital and System Concepts Ltd collaborated to produce a new accessible web site for the CBeebies TV Show Something Special. We have produced a film in which the people involved in producing the website, including the teachers and children who tested it share their experience of designing an online website specifically for children with physical and cognitive impairment. The film will be broadcast on our website on World Usability Day. Members of the team will also be attending the London UPA WUD event to talk about their experience. They will explain how online resources are currently used in SEN schools, how requirements were gathered for the new site, the importance of user research and what challenges the development team had to overcome during the sites' development. Speakers will include: - Ian Hamilton – Former BBC - Katherine Monk – Former BBC - Tom DuCroz – Ambitious about Autism - Stuart Norman – System Concepts Ltd (www.system-concepts.com) - Sam Medrington – System Concepts Ltd(www.system-concepts.com) - Jake Manion – Aardman Digital
